Luis Valderrama is an international producer who has been producing TV commercials, a TV series for the Food Network, documentaries, and music videos for over 20-years in the US and Latin America. With more than 200 produced commercials and a reputation for bringing projects on time and under budget, he maintains a great working relationship with his clients.
Valderrama is fluent in Spanish, Portuguese and English. He has produced jobs in the following countries: United States, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Venezuela, Peru, Colombia, Costa Rica, Belize, Panama, Aruba and the Bahamas.
Luis Valderrama started working in the film industry as an actor in 1986. After working on TV shows such as Miami-Vice and movies such as Broadcast News, Band of the Hand, Primal Rage and Nightmare Beach, he decided to learn the craft of making movies.
In 1989 he enrolled at the University of Miami motion picture program. While he was studying film, he won an award for best student film with “Power Wings”. After graduating in 1991 he started working in the Advertising Industry making TV commercials as an Assistant Director and later as a producer. Five years later he would start a production service company called United Colors Productions and began producing commercials for his clients in Latin America and Europe.
In 1996 Valderrama wrote, produced, and directed the short film“Radio Blues”. The film was screened at the New York Independent Film Festival.
At the end of 2000, Valderrama entered a Collaboration Film Contest designed for the motion picture industry people in South Florida. He produced and directed “A Fish Tail” and underwater short film which won the Audience Choice Award at the film contest. Then the Florida Film Commissioner who was one of the judges at the Collaboration Film Contest took the film to the Sundance Film Festival and screened there. In 2001 Valderrama directs and produces another Short Film called “Journey’s End”. The short receives the 2nd place in the professional Category at the Collaboration Film Contest, and the Bronze Award at the Worldfest Houston Film Festival in the dramatic-original category.
In 2009 Valderrama produces 3 commercials for MTV international on HD that win the silver prize at the AHAA Awards.
In 2013 he produces and directs the Documentary “Blake Fisher’s Naked Nature” and receives and Indie Fest award of merit for the short documentary .
In 2017 Valderrama produces the critically acclaimed TV Series for the Food Network Latin America, "Taco De Ojo".
He continues to produce high quality and award winning commercials for clients such as Ford, Toyota, Volkswagen, McDonald’s, Budweiser, Publix, Disney, AT&T, Marriott and Colgate.
